CNS Cares was founded by nurses in 2006 to serve former energy workers with the highest quality, most compassionate home healthcare. Since inception, they have helped thousands of energy workers, military veterans and injured workers access these benefits.
Following a change in management in 2022, CNS has worked tirelessly to drive growth and innovation, elevating their partnership and collaboration with Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅ and identifying different areas of Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅β platform to apply in unique ways that best accommodate their needs.
During the Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅ Growth, Innovation and Leadership Experience (Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅), CNS Cares received the Growth and Innovation Award for their remarkable dedication to advancing the care at home industry through technological innovation. This award recognizes CNS Caresβ demonstrated ability to leverage the Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅ ecosystem to optimize workflows, gain actionable insights from data, and enhance care quality and patient outcomes.

Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅ Vice President of Professional Services Ryan Klaustermeier, MSN, RN, weighed in on the processes he considers beneficial for other organizations to adopt:
Consolidate all patient management into one central EMR platform.
Baker discussed how, prior to 2022, executive leadership at CNS did not recognize the value of leveraging technology to drive improvements and accelerate growth. When the new executive leadership team came in, they initiated a significant shift in how the organizationβs staff conceptualizes healthcare technology.
The new leadership adopted an advanced EMR solution that supports all aspects of patient management, from authorizations to admission to billing, enabling CNS to collect and analyze comprehensive patient care data, identify areas requiring improvement, and drive enhancements.
“Consolidating all patient management processes, from admission to discharge and follow-up, into a single EMR system not only enhances care coordination and reduces administrative burden but also enables agency leaders to analyze comprehensive data trends, identify new opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in both operational efficiency and patient outcomes,β said Klaustermeier.
With their new EMR vendor, CNS was able to build a mutually beneficial partnership, collaborating closely to identify and enhance system areas to best accommodate their needs.
Establish true partnerships with your technology providers.
To establish synergistic relationships with technology providers, Baker highlighted the importance of maintaining open, transparent lines of communication, noting the value of partnering with a vendor who regularly checks in to ensure alignment with evolving needs and proactively address any emerging issues.
βRegular check-ins, open dialogue, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement have enabled CNS Cares to tailor Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅’ solutions to their specific needs and drive meaningful change,β Klaustermeier said. βYour partnerships with technology providers shouldnβt just be about using their technology for care documentation. They should be about working together to enrich the efficacy of patient care.”
Hold regular, interdepartmental strategy meetings.
CNS Cares holds weekly meetings during which their IT, operations, billing, authorizations, and human resources teams come together to discuss the ways they currently use Π‘ΦνΚΣΖ΅ technology and collaborate on improvement strategies. Baker emphasized that these meetings help promote the principle that technology and data can create efficiencies and drive improvements through all aspects of the business while encouraging feedback from every level and department.
βCollaboration is key to unlocking the full potential of any organization,β said Klaustermeier. βBy involving team members from across teams, CNS is including a diverse range of perspectives in their technology discussions, which fosters innovation and ensures improvements are practical and beneficial for everyone. This approach not only aligns the entire organization around common goals but also empowers employees at all levels to contribute to enhancing efficiencies and driving business success.β
