Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology (EEET)

Accreditation Status

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, , under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Electrical/Electronic(s) Engineering Technology and Similarly Named Programs.

Program Educational Objectives

The EEET program will produce graduates with knowledge, techniques, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities who in five years will be able to:

PEO1. Enter careers in the electrical power system, control systems, instrumentation, embedded systems, electronics product design, automation, system integration, installation, testing and maintenance of electrical and electronics systems;
PEO2. Continue their education in the fields of engineering and technology, engineering management or related post-graduate studies;
PEO3. Pursue pathways leading to licensure in the field of electrical and electronics to become professional engineers in Ohio, Indiana, and tens of other states; and
PEO4. Perform as leaders in the field of electrical and electronics engineering, overseeing engineering projects, managing timelines, budgets and teams, leading technical teams in design, implementation and troubleshooting and leading innovation and development of new electrical and electronic products.

Student Outcomes

By the time of graduation, students in the EEET program will have demonstrated:

SO1. an ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the Electrical and Electronics fields;
SO2. an ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the Electrical and Electronics fields;
SO3. an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature;
SO4. an ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes; and
SO5. an ability to function effectively as a member as well as a leader on technical teams.

Engineering Physics

Accreditation Status

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics is not currently accredited.

Program Educational Objectives

The Engineering Physics program is designed to prepare graduates with strong technical knowledge, hands-on skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities. Within five years of graduation, Engineering Physics graduates will be able to:

PEO1. Enter careers in the design, installation, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, technical sales, maintenance, and process and system design.
PEO2. Continue their education in various fields of engineering to pursue a master and/or PhD in engineering fields such as civil and aerospace engineering.
PEO3. Pursue pathways leading to licensure in the field of Engineering to become professional engineers.
PEO4. Perform as leaders in engineering, bridging over several fields of mechanics, electronics, programming, controls, and management.

Student Outcomes

By the time of graduation, students in the Engineering Physics program will have demonstrated:

SO1. an ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems.
SO2. an ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems.
SO3. an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature and tools.

Mechatronics Engineering Technology (MET)

Program Educational Objectives

The MET program will produce graduates with knowledge, techniques, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities who in five years will be able to:

PEO1. Enter careers in the design, installation, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, technical sales, maintenance, and process and system design;
PEO2. Continue their education in the fields of engineering technology, engineering management or related post-graduate studies;
PEO3. Pursue pathways leading to licensure in the field of mechatronics to become professional engineers in Ohio, Indiana and tens of other states; and
PEO4. Perform as leaders in the field of mechatronics, bridging over several fields of mechanics, electronics, programming, and controls.

Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MMET)

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, , under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Similarly Named Programs.

Program Educational Objectives

The MMET program will produce graduates with knowledge, techniques, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities who in five years will be able to:

PEO1. Enter careers in process development, quality control, installation, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, technical sales, maintenance, and process & system design;
PEO2. Continue their education in the fields of engineering technology, engineering management or related post-graduate studies;
PEO3. Pursue pathways leading to licensure in the fields of Mechanical and Manufacturing to become professional engineers in Ohio, Indiana and tens of other states; and
PEO4. Perform as leaders in the fields of Mechanical and Manufacturing including manufacturing operations, development of new mechanical products, supply chain management, project management in automotive, aerospace and industrial and advanced manufacturing, automated systems, and robotics.
